1.Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how Comparing Energy (“Comparing Energy”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and discloses personal information in connection with comparingenergy.com (the “Site”).

2.Information We Collect

We collect personal information only where you voluntarily submit it through the dealer sign-up form on the Site. That information consists of your company name, contact name, email address, telephone number, service area, the fuel types you distribute, and any additional information you elect to provide.

The Site does not employ analytics services, advertising networks, or third-party tracking technologies.

Our hosting and network providers generate standard server logs, which may include IP addresses, browser user-agent strings and request timestamps.

3.Use of Personal Information

We use personal information submitted through the Site solely to evaluate and respond to your inquiry regarding participation in our dealer network, and to communicate with you in connection with that inquiry.

We do not use personal information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4.Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may disclose personal information where required by applicable law, legal process or governmental request, or where we determine such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property or safety, or that of others.

5.Cookies

The Site sets cookies that are strictly necessary session cookie, used to validate form submissions and to prevent cross-site request forgery. These cookies contains no personal information and expires at the end of the browser session.

The Site sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The Site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

6.Retention

Information submitted through the dealer sign-up form is transmitted by email and is not stored in any database maintained by or for the Site. We retain the resulting correspondence for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in Section 3, and thereafter in accordance with our records retention practices, unless earlier deletion is requested.

7.Security

Information submitted through the Site is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we do not warrant absolute security.

8.Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have submitted, and may withdraw your consent to further contact. Requests may be submitted using the contact details in Section 12, and will be addressed within the period prescribed by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, California residents have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the purposes for which it is collected, and the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed; the right to request its correction or deletion; and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. As stated in Section 4, we neither sell nor share personal information. The categories of personal information we collect are identifiers and professional or employment-related information.

9.Third-Party Websites

The Site links to other website properties that we own, which have their own respective privacy policies available to users.

10.Children

The Site is directed to businesses and to adults purchasing heating fuel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16 years of age. If we become aware that we have done so, we will delete that information.

11.Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Policy from time to time. The effective date above indicates when it was last revised, and material changes will be reflected by a revised effective date.
