1.Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how Comparing Energy (“Comparing Energy”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and discloses personal information in connection with comparingenergy.com (the “Site”).

2.Information We Collect

We collect the personal information you submit through the dealer sign-up form: your company name, contact name, email address, telephone number, service area, the fuel types you distribute, and anything else you choose to tell us.

Like most websites, the Site also automatically collects standard technical information, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. The Site does not use analytics, advertising or third-party tracking technologies.

3.Use of Personal Information

We use the information you submit to review your application, to respond to you, and to communicate with you about joining our dealer network. We use technical information to operate, maintain and secure the Site.

4.Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We use service providers, such as hosting, email and website monitoring providers, that process information on our behalf so that we can operate the Site. We may also disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others.

5.Cookies

The Site uses only cookies that are necessary for it to work and to stay secure, such as cookies that keep the sign-up form working and protect it against misuse. They expire within a few hours and do not contain the information you enter in the form. The Site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

6.Retention

We keep the information you submit for as long as we need it to review your application and communicate with you, and afterwards in line with our normal record-keeping practices, unless you ask us to delete it.

7.Security

Information submitted through the Site is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we do not warrant absolute security.

8.Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have submitted, and may withdraw your consent to further contact. Requests may be submitted using the contact details in Section 12, and will be addressed within the period prescribed by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, California residents have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the purposes for which it is collected, and the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed; the right to request its correction or deletion; and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. As stated in Section 4, we neither sell nor share personal information. The categories of personal information we collect are identifiers, professional or employment-related information, and internet or other electronic network activity information.

9.Third-Party Websites

The Site links to other website properties that we own, which have their own respective privacy policies available to users.

10.Children

The Site is directed to businesses and to adults purchasing heating fuel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16 years of age. If we become aware that we have done so, we will delete that information.

11.Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Policy from time to time. The effective date above indicates when it was last revised, and material changes will be reflected by a revised effective date.
